Who we are

Restoring and rebuilding hope in our society.

New Hope Mission Organisation (NHM) is a Christian, non-governmental and non-profit organization established on July 29, 2019, by Gospel singer and songwriter Mr. Bahati Mangapi and his spouse Mrs. Mariamu Kaluta Stephanie. The initiative began while the founders were refugees in Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya.

Our mission is to bring back the hope lost in our society — standing with the disadvantaged, the desperate and those forgotten, for a better tomorrow.

NHM is headquartered in the City of Baraka, Fizi Territory, South Kivu Province, in the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Our projects

Areas of intervention

We put in place initiatives that defend the rights of the most vulnerable and open equal access to education and opportunity.

01 Education

Back-to-School Support Initiative

The Back-to-School Support Initiative is an educational program dedicated to helping vulnerable children access, continue, or resume their education. Our mission is to promote equal educational opportunities by supporting children who face financial and social barriers to schooling, particularly orphans and children living with disabilities.

Through financial assistance for school fees and the provision of essential school supplies, we aim to reduce barriers to education, encourage school enrolment and retention, and give every child the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.

02 Empowerment Program

Building self-reliance and dignity

Our mission goes beyond providing temporary assistance. We are committed to empowering vulnerable individuals to achieve self-reliance, dignity, and long-term sustainability. Our primary beneficiaries include orphans, persons living with disabilities, and single mothers.

Through access to education, vocational and skills training, mentorship, essential resources, and income-generating opportunities, we aim to equip beneficiaries with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to overcome challenges, achieve financial independence, and build a better and more sustainable future for themselves, their families, and their communities.

Community Outreach Program

Spreading hope spiritually and physically

Reaching vulnerable communities with God's love, spiritual encouragement, compassion, and practical support to restore hope, strengthen lives, and build stronger communities.

03 Food Security Program

Nourishment, well-being and self-reliance

We are committed to improving food security by ensuring that vulnerable families, children, and individuals have access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food to meet their basic needs, improve their well-being, and lead healthier lives.

Departments

One Meal – One Hope initiative

Through One Meal – One Hope initiative, we provide organized, compassionate, and dignified food assistance to vulnerable individuals, including patients in healthcare facilities who lack adequate nutritional support.

Agriculture

Through our agricultural development initiative, we promote sustainable food production by equipping beneficiaries with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to grow their own food, strengthen household food security, and move towards greater self-reliance.
